514 Ridgewood in Davidson (2016)

There’s been a trend recently of posting photos from 2016 to social media. I’m not sure why 2016 was chosen, but I started thinking about homes we built in 2016.

One of my favorite homes from 2016 – and from all time, for that matter – is a home we built at 514 Ridgewood Avenue in downtown Davidson, North Carolina. Designed by architect Kenny Craft of Craft Design, this home combines a classic style with modern finishes. This new home is actually the 2nd variant of another Craft Design home that we built at 328 Delburg Street in Davidson (the other being 361 Delburg Street in Davidson). We typically don’t rebuild homes, but this is such a nice plan that we couldn’t help ourselves! And, we did make some changes to each version, so they aren’t carbon copies.

This home features the primary suite on the main level, together with a generous kitchen, dining room and living room space as well as an office/library and casual breakfast area. Both the front porch and rear screened porch are quite large. The upper level has two bedrooms and a loft, while the basement features loads of storage space as well as a finished game room and full bathroom. A detached garage with an apartment above completes the package.
