John Marshall Custom Homes has been the recipient of several prizes in the annual ‘Best of the Lake’ design competition sponsored by the Lake Norman Homebuilders Association. Additionally, three of our homes have been designated as LEED certified by the US Green Building Council.
In 2007 John Marshall Custom Homes was recognized for the Best Whole House Renovation for the home we renovated on South Thompson Street in Davidson, NC. We nudged out another nice renovation for the top honors.
In 2009 we were again awarded a first place prize in the Best of the Lake competition, this time for ‘Best Green Custom Home’ for the house we built on Catawba Avenue in Davidson. This house was subsequently recognized as Davidson’s first LEED certified home.
In 2011 a kitchen renovation project that we completed on Lorimer Road in Davidson took first prize for kitchen renovations. This prize was awarded jointly with International Kitchen and Bath of Davidson.
Finally, in 2012 we were awarded a First Place prize for a kitchen renovation in Davidson as well as First Place for new home construction between $500,000 and $750,000.
John Marshall Custom Homes is very proud to have built the first house in Davidson to be LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, having achieved this recognition for the house we built in 2009 on Catawba Avenue. This house was also the first home in all of Mecklenburg County to be certified at the ‘GOLD’ level or higher.
Following up this house, in 2011 our home on James Alexander Way in Davidson was also LEED certified, and in 2012 a new home we built on Walnut Street in Davidson also earned the LEED certification. To date we’re the only builder to have 3 or more LEED certified homes in Mecklenburg County, a demonstration of our leadership in green building.
