Awards

John Marshall Custom Homes has been the recipient of several prizes in the annual ‘Best of the Lake’ design competition sponsored by the Lake Norman Homebuilders Association.  Additionally, 26 of our homes have been designated as LEED certified by the US Green Building Council.

John Marshall Custom Homes has been awarded several first place prizes in the Lake Norman Homebuilders “Best of the Lake” competition, including prizes for Best Green Home, Best Renovation, Best Kitchen Renovation, and Best New Home.  We won our first award in the 2009 competition, and were recently awarded a first place prize in 2021 for our Mill House Renovation on Dogwood Lane in downtown Davidson.

In 2016 we were named “Outstanding Single Family Developer” by the US Green Building Council.  This was a national recognition of which we are very proud.

John Marshall Custom Homes is very proud to have built the first house in Davidson to be LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, having achieved this recognition for the house we built in 2009 on Catawba Avenue.  This house was also the first home in all of Mecklenburg County to be certified at the ‘GOLD’ level or higher.

Following up this house, in 2011 our home on James Alexander Way in Davidson was also LEED certified, and in 2012 a new home we built on Walnut Street in Davidson also earned the LEED certification.  With 26 LEED certified homes and counting, we are a leader in green building not only in Mecklenburg County, but in all of North Carolina as well.
