Southeast Greenway

Located within just a three minute walk from Davidson Springs, the Southeast Greenway (full name South Prong Rocky River Greenway) offers a paved cycling and walking trail through beautiful woods and fields.   The trailhead is on South Street just past Davidson Elementary School.

The initial section of greenway winds about 1/2 mile through the woods and over a stream, then connects to Avinger Lane and Pine Road, where it then picks up again and goes another 1.5 miles through fields and along the South Prong of the Rocky River.  The greenway is part of the Carolina Thread Trail, a 15 county system of greenways that will run for over 200 miles.

The greenway is just one more way that living in the heart of downtown Davidson promotes a healthy lifestyle.   We encourage you to visit Davidson and enjoy this spectacular natural resource.
