Our Latest LEED Home is Underway!

Construction of our latest LEED certified home began today at 625 James Alexander Way in downtown Davidson.  James Alexander Way is located in Davidson Springs, our neighborhood of nine custom homes in the heart of the village.

This home will mark the first home we’ve built under Version 3.0 of ENERGY STAR.  John Marshall Custom Homes has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2007, with all of our new homes since then being ENERGY STAR certified.  Version 3.0 was recently implemented by ENERGY STAR, and definitely takes energy and water efficiency to an even higher level.

625 James Alexander Way will be the fourth home we’ve built under the LEED for Homes program which is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council.  John Marshall Custom Homes built the first LEED certified home in Davidson in 2009, and we also built the first home in Mecklenburg County to be LEED certified at the “gold” or higher level.  We subsequently built LEED certified homes at 518 Walnut Street and 631 James Alexander Way, both in Davidson.

This photo of steel reinforcing bar in a footer is definitely not sexy, but are you looking for a house that’s cheap and only going to be with you a short while, or are you in it for the long haul.  On today – Valentine’s Day – we’re in it for the long haul.  The good news is that when this house is finished you’ll see that not only does it have a great body, it’s beautiful too.

Check back soon to keep up with our progress on this home.
