In 2008 John Marshall Custom Homes was hired to build a home on Brook Street, a quiet street in the heart of downtown Davidson. Designed by architect Michael Neff, this home features 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a cook’s kitchen, a covered screened porch, a generous living and dining room, and a 2nd floor playroom. Custom bookshelves and sitting benches are other features of the home.
In 2018 our original customer hired us again to finish the space above the detached garage. We added a full bathroom, kitchenette, and an open room that could be used as a play room or a sleeping area.
Recently (August 2025) this home went on the market, listed by Melody Fuhr of Allen-Tate Realty. We attended an open home, and found that the home looks just like it did when we finished it 16 years ago (just with a few updates in furnishings from the current owner). It is that timeless mix of a newer home with classic finishes such as pedestal sinks, a clawfoot tub, and great molding details.
