Davidson’s First LEED Home

In 2010 we completed Davidson’s first LEED certified home.  Built at 233 Catawba Avenue, this home was also the first in Mecklenburg County to be certified at a GOLD level or higher.

The Ross Chapin design features about 1,600 square feet of living space, and not an inch is wasted.  The first floor master features a study/office nook, and the stairway landing has a reading niche.

Although the house is compact, it is loaded with custom features.  The kitchen has Gepetto cabinetry, granite countertops and an island with a walnut top.  Flooring is hardwood throughout except tile in the bathrooms.

The home is extremely energy efficient, with utility bills less than half of those of comparably sized homes.  Water efficiency is another benefit of the LEED process.
