Renovating & Remodeling

John Marshall Custom Homes, Inc. has done several renovation and remodeling projects. We've completed projects of all shapes and sizes, from whole house renovations to kitchen upfits and sunrooms. We are proud to feature just some of our projects on this page.

South Thompson Street Renovation - We completely renovated and updated this 1946 ranch home in the heart of old Davidson. The 1500 square foot home was transformed into a 3500 square foot one and a half story home, complete with a new kitchen, bathrooms, living space and a detached 2-car garage with an apartment above. We were awarded First Place in the Lake Norman Homebuilders Association's "Best of" competition for renovations for this project.

Lake Norman Addition/Remodel - This 1970s split-level sits on a beautiful lake lot in Cornelius. There was a limited view of the lake, and the living spaces and kitchen had become very outdated. Our addition created additional living spaces on the first floor of the house, and provided indoor and outdoor entertainment areas with great views of Lake Norman. We also completely updated the kitchen. - Return to Top

Old Davidson Addition/Remodel - This 1901 home is located in the old village of Davidson. The homeowner's objectives were to create additional living spaces, create some outdoor living areas, and modernize the kitchen. We added a new eating area, laundry room, and powder room inside, and a covered porch, screened porch, and balcony outside. We also fully updated the kitchen, and added a second floor bathroom. - Return to Top

Screened Porches and Sunrooms - The following are but two examples of outdoor living projects that we have completed. The sunroom provided a great place to enjoy the homeowner's beautifully wooded lot. The screen porch is very unique, with its concrete posts and cedar trim work reminiscent of a western lodge. - Return to Top
